The Fountain Of The Dead – Arielli

For Christmas, I gave my mom a photo book of the pictures I took in Italy and when she got to this picture, she told me that they used to call this fountain “The Fountain of the Dead” when she was a kid, but she didn’t know why. There was a major battle fought here in WWII but I’m not sure if the moniker came from that.

It’s amazing to think that this is where my mom used to go to wash clothes and get fresh water, as it’s looked like this as long as I can remember.
