We Can Do It! (In Wood-Ridge, NJ)

There are few symbols of WWII as iconic as Rosie the Riveter. An icon for the millions of women who entered the workforce while men were out fighting, there is an amazing bronze statue in Wood-Ridge of her, sitting in a corporate parking lot.

It’s a wonderful statue, built by John Giannotti, and it’s incredibly detailed.

I love the headscarf the best. It stands out and it’s a great pop of color, instantly recognizable. I love the lunch box and coke bottle too, both look so realistic, and like the statue, I spent some time getting really close to the statue, trying to look at all the details.
