If you were a child of the 80’s like me, you remember the California Raisins. It’s hard to forget the Claymation musical group that made people want to eat more raisins….or gave them nightmares that the raisins they were eating were a musical group that sang sweet sweet soul music.
Salvaged from a golf course, in the front yard of someone’s personal house, but attached to an ice cream stand in Egg Harbor Township, is a 20 foot tall California Raisin. Holding an ice cream cone. I doubt younger generations know exactly what this thing is…but I bet their parents smile whenever they see it.
He’s a pretty scary (and HUGE) dude. I’m glad he was saved though, the California Raisins were definitely a time and place thing and if someone didn’t save him, he would have been lost to time and forgotten.
