King Lear Statue: Grounds for Sculpture – Hamilton, NJ

I’ve always been drawn to this statue of King Lear. I always felt like the sculptor perfectly captured the mental and physical anguish Lear was going through.

I had taken two blind shots of this statue and I found that this one, the second, has a much more powerful affect on me than the other. I think it is because King Lear’s hand is in the shot. For some reason it gives Lear a sadder and more faraway look.
